Leadership Skills Training held in Mogadishu

Leadership Skills Training was held in Mogadishu on 20th July 2024 organized by Somali Leadership Institute-SLI, and aimed to enhance the participantsโ€™ leadership capabilities. The training was facilitated by Mr. Abdi Muhumed, Former Senior Adviser to the Office of Prime Minister, currently Mopied- EU-relations office.

The Leadership Skills Training program was designed to equip participants with essential leadership skills and competencies. The training covered various aspects of effective leadership, including communication, decision-making, team management, and strategic thinking.

The key objectives of the training program were: to develop a comprehensive understanding of leadership principles and styles, enhance communication and interpersonal skills for effective leadership, Foster decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills, cultivate effective team management and collaboration, and Develop strategic thinking and planning capabilities.

20 Participants from diverse professional backgrounds attended the training program.

The training created a combination of interactions, sharing ideas, and group discussions to engage participants and facilitate their learning. The sessions were conducted by an experienced trainer and subject matter expert in the field of leadership development.

The training program covered key components including Introduction to Leadership Styles and Theories, Effective Communication and Influencing Skills, Decision-Making and Problem-Solving Techniques, Vision, Accountability, Change Management and Adaptability, Strategic Thinking and Planning Accountability, Integrity, Empath, Inspiration, Building and Leading High-Performing Teams, Emotional Intelligence and Self-Awareness

The Leadership Skills Training program achieved the following outcomes: ย Improved understanding of leadership principles and styles among the participants., Enhanced communication and interpersonal skills, leading to better collaboration within teams, Strengthened decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills.

The participants provided overwhelmingly positive feedback about the training program. They expressed satisfaction with the quality of the content, the expertise of the trainers, and the interactive nature of the sessions. Many participants noted that the training had a significant impact on their leadership abilities and would contribute to their professional growth.

A further objective is to help students strengthen the conceptual, technical and interpersonal skills that managers need to communicate effectively in the business world.

The objectives above are achieved through the combined and integrated application of both lectures (designed to discuss the relevant marketing concepts and methods) and case study analysis, which will provide a context in which to apply these concepts and methods. Class presentations are also employed. Students are encouraged to use class sessions as an opportunity to probe, extend, and apply the course material.

Application:ย through case studies we will be able to witness life-like situations (case studies) confronting modern management.

Modern marketing managers must better understand consumer behavior in order to drive organizational business. Furthermore, this course will focus on customer focus and driving business with this orientation and the strategy of holistic marketing. This concept will a focus of the class.
